Analisis Pengesahan Faktor (CFA) Instrumen Kajian Cinta Ilmu dan Keperibadian Ummah Cemerlang (Confirmatory Factor Analysis of Instrument Measuring Love for Knowledge and Excellent Ummah Personality)

Abstract


Kemajuan teknologi hari ini merupakan sebahagian daripada kesan Revolusi Industri 4.0 yang melibatkan perubahan dalam pelbagai aspek hidup manusia termasuk keilmuan dan keperibadian.Mahasiswa Muslim hari ini perlu dilengkapkan dengan ilmu dan kemahiran yang sesuai bagi menghadapi cabaran revolusi ini. Di samping itu, keperibadian ummah cemerlang yang berdaya saing perlu dibangunkan agar mampu memanfaatkan perkembangan ini selaku khalifah. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menjalankan Analisis Penerokaan Faktor (EFA) dan Analisis Pengesahan Faktor (CFA)bagi menguji kesesuaian pemboleh ubah Instrumen Cinta Ilmu dan Keperibadian Ummah Cemerlang. Satu set soal selidik diedarkan kepada 415 mahasiswa Muslim dan dianalisis menggunakan ujian analisis pengesahan faktor (CFA) dengan bantuan perisisan AMOS Ver.23. Merujuk kepada modifikasi dan nilai goodness of-fit, didapati nilai fit indices adalah lebih baik setelah melalui beberapa proses perubahan. Selain itu, ujian kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan turut dilakukan terhadap model pengukuran ini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa model pengukuran cinta ilmu yang sah terdiri daripada enam pembolehubah iaitu cinta pembacaan dan motivasi intrinsik yang mewakili cinta ilmu serta ibadah, akidah, akhlak terhadap keluarga dan akhlak terhadap masyarakat yang mewakili keperibadian ummah cemerlang.Analisis ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara cinta ilmu dengan keperibadian ummah cemerlang. Maka, kajian ini mengetengahkan keperluan masyarakat dan universiti untuk memberi perhatian kepada usaha menyuburkan budaya ilmu mahasiswa dan mengembangkannya supaya nilai-nilai murni ini tidak terhad kepada manfaat individu sahaja tetapi juga orang lain.

Abstract

 

The development of technologies nowadays were the impact for fourth Industrial Revolution. These are affecting humans in all aspects of life including the role of the human being itself. Hence, Muslim students need to be equipped with the appropriate knowledge and skills to face the challenges of this revolution. Furthermore, they also need to have the personalities of excellent ummah in order to gain benefit from this industrial revolution so that will fit the role as khalifah (representative of Allah). This instrument entitled Love for Knowledge and Personalities of Excellent Ummah was assessed with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in determining the fitness of the suggested variables. A set of questionnaire distributed to 415 Muslim students and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) has been done. Initially, the measurement model of love for knowledge and personalities of excellent ummah had demonstrated poor-fit indices. However, after undergoing the model modification and goodness-of-fit, results for the fit indices for measurement model were found to have been improved. The evaluation on the validity and reliability has also been performed for the measurement model. The result shows that the measurement model of love for knowledge consisted of six variables namely love of reading and intrinsic motivation that represented the love for knowledge as well as ibadah (worship), akidah (faith), akhlak (moral) towards family and akhlak towards society represented the personalities of excellent ummah.This finding proved a relationship between love for knowledge and personalities of knowledge existed significantly. Thus, the love for knowledge among students should be nurtured by society and university so they will promote valuable human lives and the public good at large.
