Special Section
Abstract
This special section showcases the expanding scope of research in language and linguistics in different contexts. The first article presents an analysis of the attitude of Malaysian News Media toward China utilizing both the sentiment analysis process and corpus approach. This is followed by an article that highlights how pilots and air traffic controllers repair and accommodate their aviation communication in an intercultural setting. The third article presents an examination on the intersectionality of gendered narratives through the lens of motherhood, culture, and nationhood in literary texts from Oman and Bangladesh, to uncover its manifestation in the societies of both nations. The final article presents an investigation of the language choice among government staff while discharging their official duties. All four articles demonstrate current research in language and linguistics in a world that witnesses an accelerated growth of interactions between people from different language and cultural backgrounds.
