Masalah pertambahan kenderaan di Banda Hilir, Melaka dilihat semakin meruncing. Ditambah dengan kepesatan pembangunan di kawasan sekitarnya meningkatkan lagi kuantiti kenderaan yang berada di Banda Hilir, Melaka. Ini membuatkan tahap pencemaran bunyi di Banda Hilir, Melaka semakin membimbangkan. Kajian ini mengenalpasti tahap pencemaran bunyi yang wujud di Banda Hilir, Melaka impak daripada pertambahan bilangan kenderaan. Sebanyak 7 (tujuh) stesen persampelan kajian telah dipilih di sekitar kawasan Banda Hilir, Melaka. Dengan menggunakan alat Sound Level Meter, aras maksimum, aras minimum dan nilai purata kebisingan serta bilangan kenderaan juga direkodkan bagi semua kawasan persampelan. Keputusan yang diperolehi menunjukkan Menara Taming Sari mempunyai Nilai Leq bunyi bising tertinggi dengan 84.4 dan nilai leq bunyi bising terendah direkodkan di Petronas Hujung Pasir dengan 68.4. Bilangan kenderaan tertinggi direkodkan di Menara Taming Sari dengan 131 buah kenderaan dan bilangan terendah adalah di Petronas Hujung Pasir dengan 72 buah kenderaan. Analisis korelasi pearson nilai r adalah 0.8913, menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tahap bunyi bising dan bilangan kenderaan di Banda Hilir, Melaka. Kajian mendapati purata kebisingan bunyi trafik di Banda Hilir Melaka adalah melebihi daripada 65 dBA iaitu piawai yang ditetapkan oleh JAS. Permasalahan kebisingan trafik yang wujud akibat daripada proses pembangunan dan pembandaran perlu dipandang serius oleh pihak-pihak tertentu dalam strategi perancangan bandar yang mampan.

Abstract

 

Increasing of vehicles in Bandar Hilir, Melaka are seen worsening. Coupled with the rapid development in the surrounding area, the quantity of vehicles in Banda Hilir, Melaka has increased. This makes the level of noise pollution in Banda Hilir, Melaka increasingly disturbing. This study identified the level of noise pollution in Banda Hilir, Melaka was caused by increasing number of vehicles. A total of 7 (seven) sampling locations were selected in the vicinity of Banda Hilir, Melaka. By using the Sound Level Meter (dBA), the maximum, minimum and the average noise value (Leq) was recorded and the number of vehicles are also recorded for all sampling locations. The results showed that Menara Taming Sari has the highest leq value of noise at 84.4 and Petronas Hujung Pasir has the lowest value at 68.4. Menara Taming Sari also recorded the highest number of vehicles with 131 vechiles and Petronas Hujung Pasir recorded the lowest number of vechicles with 72 vechicle. Statistical analysis using Pearson’s correlation showed the r value=0.8913 which means there is a significant relationship between noise level variable and number of vehicle variable. It is found that average traffic noise in Banda Hilir Melaka is higher than the standard set by the DOE of 65 dBA. Traffic noise issues that arise as a result of the development and urbanization processes should be taken seriously by the authorities in their planning strategies for sustainable city.
