JUDAIZATION OF THE BAITUL MAQDIS TOWN AFTER THE 1967’S ISRAEL OCCUPATION: ERADICATING THE ARAB-ISLAM IDENTITY IN THE HISTORICAL NARRATIVE AND HERITAGE OF PALESTINE [PENYAHUDIAN (JUDAIZATION) KOTA BAITUL MAQDIS SELEPAS PENAKLUKAN ISRAEL, 1967: MENGIKIS IDENTITI ARAB-ISLAM DALAM NARATIF SEJARAH DAN WARISAN PALESTIN]

Abstract

This article examines the policy and process of Judaization implemented by the Israeli government to eradicate the Arab-Islam’s identity in the town of Baitul Maqdis, Palestine. The main objective of the discourse is to unveil the Judaization policy and process implemented by Tel Aviv since the foundation of the Jews state in 1948. Hence, the focus is given to the Judaization process after the 1967’s Arab-Israeli War when the Zionist regime occupied the eastern part of the city, subsequently establishing the unified Baitul Maqdis. From a historical perspective, the regime had implemented various actions to change the authentic character of the town from the Arab-Islam town into a city with a Jewish’s identity. Despite harsh critics from international community and the Muslim World, Tel Aviv continues the mission to rebuild the reimagined Jews City of Jerusalem through Judaization initiative. This mission was undertaken through an illegal occupation policy. Eventually, the Zionist regime altered the character of the city unilaterally by annexing the occupied territory, introducing the illegal land laws, bulldozing the Arab-Islam monuments, heritages, and sacred sites such as tombs and mosques, marginalizing the Palestinian community in the city and recreating the Jews statues of historical myth. By applying historical method of analysis and sources, this study discloses the hidden unethical mission and systematic actions of the Jews regime in eliminating the existing historical facts and narrative that the old town of Baitul Maqdis belongs to the Muslim.
