A THEMATIC SURVEY OF ACTIVITIES FOR ENHANCING ARABIC SPEAKING SKILLS AMONG NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS [TINJAUAN TEMATIK AKTIVITI MENINGKATKAN KEMAHIRAN BERTUTUR BAHASA ARAB DALAM KALANGAN BUKAN PENUTUR JATI]
Abstract

Abstract
Speaking skills are among the essential competencies students need to master, as they are the second most important skill after listening. However, students’ achievement in Arabic speaking skills remains at a low level. Therefore, this survey study aims to identify activities that enhance Arabic speaking skills among non-native speakers from 2012 to the present, using NVIVO 12 software. A keyword search through the SCOPUS database yielded 18 articles, while ProQuest produced 74 articles. However, after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 21 articles were selected. A review of these articles identified 9 initial codes, which were categorized into 4 main themes: listening and pronunciation, role-playing or acting, oral presentations, and storytelling. It is hoped that the findings of this study will benefit future research in addressing speaking skill challenges and serve as a guide for language educators in teaching 21st-century speaking skills.
