Pencarian Maklumat Ujian Calitan: Pengaruh Interpersonal Sebagai Pengantara Dalam Hubungan Penggunaan Media Massa dengan Motivasi Menjalani Ujian Calitan

Abstract


 

Kanser jarang diperbualkan dalam kalangan rakyat Malaysia walaupun mereka menyedari bahawa kanser merupakan penyakit utama yang boleh menyebabkan kematian. Malahan, ujian calitan masih tidak dibincangkan secara terbuka terutamanya dalam kalangan orang Melayu yang menetap di kawasan luar bandar kerana ujian calitan dianggap sebagai tajuk perbualan yang sensitif. Interaksi secara interpersonal mempunyai pengaruh yang kuat dalam mempengaruhi individu untuk bertindak. Oleh itu, kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti peranan komunikasi interpersonal untuk mendapatkan maklumat tentang kanser serviks sebagai faktor pengantara di perkaitan antara penggunaan media massa dengan motivasi untuk menjalankan ujian calitan. Pengedaran borang soal selidik ke atas 476 orang wanita yang pernah menjalankan ujian calitan di empat buah klinik kesihatan yang terpilih iaitu Klinik Kesihatan Botanik mewakili daerah Klang, Klinik Kesihatan Seri Kembangan mewakili daerah Petaling, Klinik Kesihatan Jenjarom mewakili daerah Kuala Langat dan Klinik Kesihatan Dengkil mewakili daerah Sepang. Analisis data dijalankan dengan menggunakan perisian komputer SPSS versi 22.0. Hasil analisis mengesahkan perkaitan penggunaan komunikasi interpersonal sebagai faktor pengantara untuk mendapatkan maklumat tentang kanser serviks dalam hubungan penggunaan media massa dengan motivasi untuk menjalani ujian calitan. Oleh itu, penyampaian maklumat dengan menggunakan pendekatan komunikasi secara interpersonal haruslah lebih kerap digunakan dalam penyebaran maklumat berkaitan dengan kanser serviks dan ujian calitan.
