Analisis Psikometrik Literasi Media Baharu dan Pemantapan Integriti Penyertaan Politik Golongan Muda

Abstract


Literasi media baharu merupakan literasi teras yang membimbing pengguna media supaya menggunakan media secara berintegriti. Selain itu literasi media baharu juga merupakan keupayaan untuk memahami secara kritikal dan menghasilkan kandungan dalam media. Bagi memacu transformasi nasional seiring nilai agama dan budaya, penerapan nilai integriti golongan muda secara langsung melahirkan pemimpin beretika dan mengurangkan kecenderungan tindakan tidak bermoral dalam sistem politik negara. Bagi menguji nilai integriti, model literasi media baharu diuji ke atas 388 mahasiswa negeri Melaka dari empat Institusi Pengajian Tinggi iaitu Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) cawangan Melaka, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, Melaka, Universiti Multimedia, (MMU) Melaka dan Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM). Instrumen skala literasi media baharu dibentuk daripada model kecekapan utama digital dan literasi media untuk menguji nilai integriti golongan muda melalui Analisis Faktor Pengesahan (CFA) dan pembentukan Model CFA Skala Literasi Media Baharu. Dapatan menunjukkan model Skala Literasi Media Baharu telah mencapai ketepatan padanan yang baik dan mencapai kesahan konvergen berdasarkan hubungan pemboleh ubah yang signifikan. Skala ini turut mencapai kesahan diskriminan dan kesahan prediktif yang menyokong ciri-ciri psikometrik versi Bahasa Melayu. Kajian ini secara langsung menyumbang kepada pembentukan skala literasi media dan pemahaman terhadap literasi media baharu kepada masyarakat, pihak kerajaan dan pengamal media dalam memberikan tafsiran dan kefahaman sesuatu mesej.
