Analisis Persepsi Ibu Bapa Terhadap Manfaat dan Risiko Penggunaan Internet dalam Kalangan Remaja di Lembah Klang

Abstract


Penggunaan Internet dan peranti pintar yang meresap ke dalam masyarakat menjadikan golongan remaja antara yang aktif menggunakan Internet dan pelbagai peralatan digital dalam kehidupan harian. Di sebalik penggunaan Internet sebagai satu keperluan pada masa kini, timbul persoalan tentang manfaat dan risiko penggunaan Internet kepada remaja.  Sehubungan dengan itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan tentang persepsi ibu bapa terhadap manfaat dan risiko penggunaan Internet kepada remaja. Kajian dijalankan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif menerusi borang soal selidik. Seramai 384 orang ibu bapa di sekitar Lembah Klang yang mempunyai anak remaja berusia 13 hingga 17 tahun dan menggunakan Internet menjadi responden melalui proses persampelan bertujuan. Analisis data dijalankan secara deskriptif dan berdasarkan inferens bagi mengkaji min dan sisihan piawai serta ujian t tidak bersandar. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan ibu bapa berpandangan bahawa remaja menggunakan Internet untuk pembelajaran, hiburan, berkomunikasi dan memperoleh maklumat. Namun penggunaan Internet berupaya mendedahkan remaja kepada orang yang tidak dikenali serta pengaruh negatif daripada kandungan dalam talian. Sementara itu, dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan persepsi terhadap manfaat dan risiko penggunaan Internet kepada remaja tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor jantina ibu bapa. Dapatan kajian ini juga dapat memberi kesedaran kepada ibu bapa tentang pentingnya mengambil perhatian tentang penggunaan Internet oleh anak-anak pada masa kini khususnya remaja supaya dapat memantau penggunaan Internet bagi tujuan yang bermanfaat dan menghindari aktiviti berisiko dalam talian.
