Kepimpinan Rohani: Perkaitan Kualiti Komunikasi Kepimpinan Mahathir Mohamad dengan Falsafah Hindu

Abstract


Kajian ini meneroka komunikasi kepimpinan Mahathir Mohamad berdasarkan persepsi pemimpin pendapat Hindu Malaysia berdasarkan kerangka kepimpinan rohani. Walaupun sering dikritik kerana menyokong masyarakat majoriti, Mahathir Mohammad sebagai Perdana Menteri keempat (1981-2003), telah membawa pembangunan yang signifikan kepada Malaysia termasuk minoriti iaitu penganut Hindu Malaysia. Walaupun banyak kajian dijalankan memfokuskan komunikasi kepimpinan beliau, namun terdapat kekurangan kajian dalam konteks komuniti majoriti-minoriti berdasarkan kerangka kepimpinan rohani. Berdasarkan temu bual mendalam yang dijalankan melibatkan 23 pemimpin pendapat beragama Hindu, penyelidikan ini mengkaji kualiti komunikasi kepimpinan Mahathir Mohammad dan kerelevanannya dengan falsafah agama Hindu. Data yang dikumpul dianalisis secara tematik dengan menggunakan perisian NVIVO 14. Penyelidikan ini menyumbang kepada perspektif baharu dalam komunikasi kepimpinan berdasarkan kepimpinan rohani dalam masyarakat majmuk terutamanya komunikasi kepimpinan antara komuniti majoriti dan minoriti dalam konteks masyarakat majmuk; dan tafsiran kritis terhadap peranan agama Hindu (falsafah Hindu) dalam memudahkan proses komunikasi kepimpinan ke arah perubahan sosial antara komuniti majoriti-minoriti dalam konteks pelbagai budaya.
