ABSTRACT

 

The manuscript must include an abstract, describing its main points within 150-250 words in the Malay and English languages. For authors who are unable to provide the Malay Language version of the abstract, the editor will assist with the translation.

INTRODUCTION

[All first-order headings use Times New Roman, font size 12, bold and centered]

 

The manuscript should be typed with single spacing, single column, and font size 12 on A4 paper not exceeding 25 pages. The paper can be written in English or Bahasa Melayu. In general, the contents should comprise of Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, and References (Nadia et al. 2022). Nadia et al. (2022) is the reference style to be cited in the serangga manuscript using Penerbit UKM Style.

           

            Authors will receive Galley Proof once the correction made by the author has been accepted. Authors are expected to consider carefully checking the Galley Proof before proceeding with submission. No additions, deletions, or changes to the manuscript will be permitted after the manuscript is published.

 

MATERIALS AND METHODS

 

Methods should be described in the past tense as you are describing work that was carried out to achieve the objective of the study.

 

Serangga Journal [Second order headings should be bold, Capitalize Each Word, Times New Roman, font size 12, and align left]

Serangga is an international refereed journal on various aspects of insects. Serangga covers the study and exploitation of areas such as taxonomy, biology, behavior, ecology, molecular, physiology, toxicology, biochemistry, life history, and biogeography. The journal publishes articles, reviews, and short communication whose content and approach are of interest to a wide range of scholars.

Research Article.

Full-length original research report which yield valuable insights into topics within our coverage. Research articles report original observations and experiments, the results of the experiment, and a discussion of the significance of the results. There is no word limit for research articles. No limited words for original articles.

 

Short communication.

Short communications articles provide an outlet for shorter studies that report on novel findings and which therefore need to be published rapidly. The article should be similar to original articles with Materials and Methods and Discussion briefer. Total length should be 2,000 words or less (not including abstract, references, or figure and table legends).

 

Review.

Review articles provide systemic overview, evaluation and interpretation of research in a given field. Review articles review and synthesize current information on a topic. Review articles can also contain historical threads of important ideas. There is no word limit for review articles.

 

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

 

All illustrations and table must be labelled and supplied on after introducing in the text. The illustrations of photographs, schemas, graphs and diagrams are to be referred to and numbered serial, as figures (Figure 1). The figure number and caption should be typed below the illustration in Times New Roman, font size 12, and centered as shown in Figure 1 and 2.

            Tables should be referred to and numbered serial, as tables (Table 1). Every table number and caption and should be placed above tables in Times New Roman, font size 12, and

centered. Please ensure that the data presented in figures or tables do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article.

            All alphabetically ordered reference list should be included at the end of the manuscript. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information in the reference. Manuscripts must conform to the references in Penerbit UKM Style (https://www.ukm.my/lestari/doc/gaya_ukm_bi.pdf). The references style adopted should be consistent throughout the manuscript.

 

CONCLUSION

This template gives formatting guidelines for authors preparing papers for publication in the Serangga. The authors must follow the instructions given in the document for the papers to be published. PLEASE DO NOT USE A PAGE BREAK AFTER EACH HEADING. Manuscripts should be submitted via: https://ejournal.ukm.my/serangga/login. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that his or her submitted work does not infringe any existing copyright. Authors should obtain permission to reproduce or adapt copyrighted material and provide evidence of approval upon submitting the final version of a manuscript. Manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and at least one independent referee. Decisions regarding the publication of a manuscript will be based on the Board’s recommendations. The manuscript will be evaluated based on its appropriateness for Serangga, contribution to the discipline, cogency of analysis, conceptual breadth, clarity of presentation and technical adequacy. Manuscripts submitted by members of the journal’s Editorial Board are subjected to the same review procedure.

 

 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

 

Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be kept brief. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.
