Faktor Dorongan Pelajar Tingkatan 6 Melanjutkan Pelajaran di Peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda

Abstract


Pada era pasca pandemik Covid-19 ini telah menyebabkan semua masyarakat kembali kepada kehidupan seperti sedia kala termasuklah pelajar-pelajar sekolah. Fasa pemulihan ini juga menyebabkan ramai masyarakat mengalami tekanan untuk meneruskan kehidupan bahkan pelajar sekolah juga telah mengalami keadaan sukar untuk kembali bersemangat untuk meneruskan pembelajaran pada peringkat seterusnya. Kajian ini telah melakukan tinjauan dan penelitian terhadap pendapat pelajar tingkatan 6 di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kubang Kerian. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti latar belakang sosioekonomi pelajar tingkatan 6. Selain itu, kajian juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor mempengaruhi cita-cita pelajar tingkatan 6 ke Menara gading. Penyelidikan ini mengggunakan kaedah pengedaran borang soal selidik untuk mengumpul data. Seramai 43 orang pelajar tingkatan 6 dipilih sebagai responden kajian. Teknik menganalisis data menggunakan teknik Chi-Square dan teknik analisis faktor untuk mengenal pasti hubungkait antara faktor utama yang menyebabkan pelajar ingin menyambung pengajian di universiti. Hasil kajian mendapati walaupun pelajar terdiri daripada keluarga sederhana tetapi mempunyai niat menyambung pengajian di universiti. Selain itu, faktor kendiri adalah faktor utama yang mempengaruhi mereka ingin menjejak kaki ke peringkat yang lebih tinggi. Kajian mikro dan berfokus ini amat diperlukan untuk menjadikan unjuran hala tuju pelajar STPM terutamanya selepas fasa pandemik seterusnya unjuran pemilihan pelajar di peringkat pengajian tinggi dapat dikenal pasti.

Abstract: In the post-pandemic era, Covid-19 has caused everyone to return to life as usual, including school students. This recovery phase also causes many people to experience pressure to continue with life, even school students have also experienced difficult situations to regain enthusiasm to continue learning at the next level. This study has conducted a survey and research on the opinions of STPM students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kubang Kerian. The purpose of this study is to identify the socioeconomic background of STPM students. In addition, the study also aims to analyze the factors influencing STPM students to achieve the ivory tower. This research uses the method of distributing questionnaires to collect data. A total of 43 students representing the upper and lower 6th grade of the school were selected as respondents to the study. Data analysis techniques using the Chi-Square technique and factor analysis techniques to identify the relationship between and the main factors that cause students to want to continue their studies at university. The results found that even though the students are from modest families, they have the intention of continuing their studies at a high university. In addition, individual factors are the main factors that influence them to want to step foot to a higher level. This micro and focused study is very necessary to make the projection of the direction of STPM students especially after the next phase of the pandemic and the projection of student selection at the higher education level can be identified.
