Jurnal Pendidikan Malaysia / Malaysian Journal of Education is a peer-reviewed journal published by Penerbit UKM | UKM Press and managed by the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Beginning 2009, Jurnal Pendidikan Malaysia is published twice a year (in May and November). 

Jurnal Pendidikan Malaysia is committed in disseminating knowledge on all aspects of education. The primary objective of this journal is to act as an outlet for the publication of research, expansion of theories, report articles, commentaries on current issues in the field of teaching and learning at all levels of schooling and institutions of higher learning; both within and outside of Malaysia. Articles are written in Bahasa Melayu or English.

CALL FOR PAPERS: MJE SPECIAL ISSUE [CLOSED]

 

The Malaysian Journal of Education is calling for papers for a special issue to be published in December 2018. The details are as follows:

THEME: MEETING CURRENT EDUCATIONAL CHALLENGES IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM

As we are now in the new millennium, with the speed of technology changing every aspect of human life, it is impossible for education not to be immersed in technology. We are now witnessing Global learning as a technique just for a few to use but is a must for all to use; where online conferencing, group projects, and chats is the norm. The use of technology to seek for knowledge and to solve problems is starting to make demands on classroom instructions and to change the makeup of the whole teaching and learning environment and process. Challenges are therefore inevitable.

Not only that, the concept of a “knowledge-based society” has become central to worldwide development efforts. Today, in the information age, a country is as strong as the knowledge it holds. The development of any nation rests with its human capital and its ability to generate new ideas and foster skills. Education is the foundation of the economic, social and civil development of any nation; it increases human well-being, and is a decisive factor in enabling people to become productive and responsible members of society. A fundamental prerequisite for development is an effective educational system that is accessible to all.

Hence, this special issue aims to present research on some of the key areas in education which are critical in meeting the challenges in the new millennium:
