Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

JUUM publishes articles, case commentary, legislative notes in English or Malay. Beginning 1st January 2024, the submission guide is as follows:

1. The length of manuscript should be manuscript should not exceed 20 pages. Case commentary, legislative notes, short notes should not exceed 10 pages.
2. The title of manuscript should not be more than fifteen words. Any manuscript in Malay should also contain an English title.
3. The title page should contain title of the manuscript, name of author(s), institutional affiliation and e-mail address. This information should be provided on a separate sheet and author(s) should not be identified anywhere else in the manuscript.
4. The author(s) must supply an abstract of 150-250 words, followed by a maximum of 5 keywords. Any manuscript in Malay should also contain an English abstract. No abstract is required for case commentary, legislative notes.
5. Headings must be short, with a clear indication of the distinction between the hierarchy of headings. The headings should be presented in bold.
6. References must be cited according to APA (7th Edition) referencing style.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in .doc/.docx Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. For electronic-only sources, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a Times New Roman 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines (in the "About" menu).
  6. The Journal Template has been downloaded and referred to by the author.
