UNSUR SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI DALAM TAJ AL-MULUK (Science and Technology Elements in Taj Al-Muluk)

Kitab Taj al-Muluk merupakan sebuah kitab yang menjadi kontroversi dalam masyarakat di Alam Melayu apabila telah difatwakan haram oleh pihak JAKIM pada tahun 2007. Pengharaman ini adalah disebabkan terdapatnya ilmu nujum yang telah diharamkan pengamalannya oleh Islam. Walaupun bahagian nujum yang diharamkan, terdapat juga beberapa bahagian lain yang turut ditulis dalam kitab Taj al-Muluk seperti bahagian pembinaan rumah, ubat-ubatan, taqwim, perbintangan, pertanian, gastronomi dan lain-lain lagi yang dirasakan sangat perlu untuk dikupas. Oleh yang demikian, makalah ini bertujuan untuk melihat unsur-unsur sains dan teknologi yang jelas terdapat dalam kitab Taj al-Muluk termasuk dalam bahagian penujuman. Kajian ini dilakukan hanya dengan meneliti kandungan teks kitab Taj al-Muluk dan membahaskan fasal yang mengandungi unsur sains dan teknologi untuk diteliti. Hasil daripada penelitian menunjukkan kandungan kitab Taj al-Muluk ini sarat dengan unsur etnosains dan etnoteknologi yang perlu dikupas dan dikaji dengan lebih lanjut. Terdapat beberapa unsur etnosains yang boleh dilihat dalam kitab Taj al-Muluk iaitu unsur tersebut ditulis dengan jelas seperti pembinaan rumah, ubat-ubatan, taqwim, perbintangan, pertanian, gastronomi dan juga adanya unsur etnosains dan etnoteknologi yang tidak ditulis secara jelas seperti bahagian penujuman, pemilihan tanah dan ta’bir mimpi.

ABSTRACT

The Taj al-Muluk book is a book that became controversial in the Malay community when it was declared haram by JAKIM in 2007. This ban is due to the presence of astrology, the practice of which has been prohibited by Islam. Although part of astrology is forbidden, some other parts are also written in the book of Taj al-Muluk such as the part of house construction, medicine, calendar, astrology, agriculture, gastronomy, and others that feel very necessary to be covered. Therefore, this paper aims to see the elements of science and technology that are found in the book of Taj al-Muluk, including in the section on prophecy. This study was done only by examining the content of the text of the book Taj al-Muluk and debating the clauses that contain elements of science and technology to be examined. The results of the research show that the content of the book Taj al-Muluk is loaded with elements of ethnoscience and ethnotechnology that need to be examined and studied further. The content that has elements of ethnoscience and ethnotechnology is divided into two, the elements are written such as house construction, medicine, calendar, astrology, agriculture, and gastronomy and there are also elements of ethnoscience and ethnotechnology that are not written such as the part of divination, selection land and interpretation of dreams.
