Analisis Berita Kempen Calon Pilihanraya Presiden Donald Trump: Kajian terhadap Utusan Malaysia Online dan Astro Awani Online

Abstract


Kempen pilihan raya Presiden Amerika Syarikat telah mengundang perhatian banyak  organisasi media tempatan dan antarabangsa yang membuat liputan. Setiap berita dan kenyataan yang melibatkan calon dari Parti Republikan, Donald Trump dilihat banyak mengetengahkan isu-isu kontroversi banyak mencuri perhatian media. Maka, objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti bentuk kandungan berita dalam kedua-dua buah media berbahasa Melayu iaitu Utusan Malaysia Online dan Astro Awani Online ini sepanjang tempoh bermula November 2015 sehingga November 2016. Teori Penetapan Agenda digunakan dalam kajian ini bagi melihat bagaimanakah bentuk agenda agensi berita yang dikaji serta metodologi yang digunakan adalah kaedah analisis kandungan kuantitatif bagi mengira kuantiti data yang diperolehi. Kaedah analisis kandungan kualitatif pula bagi menganalisis mesej atau bentuk teks berita secara mendalam. Hasil kajian ini mendapati bahawa berita yang disiarkan dalam Astro Awani Online banyak mengetengahkan berita yang berunsur mengkritik calon Republican ini. Manakala akhbar Utusan Malaysia Online pula banyak melaporkan agenda awam seperti mengetengahkan pendapat orang ramai terhadap kempen ini. Implikasi daripada kajian ini menunjukkan kedua-dua akhbar di Malaysia ini menetapkan agenda berbeza terhadap isu-isu yang diketengahkan walaupun kedua-dua agensi berita ini dimiliki oleh parti politik pro kerajaan.
