PERKEMBANGAN DAN CIRI-CIRI UTAMA INTRAPUPARIA Spiniphora genitalis SCHMITZ, 1940 (DIPTERA: PHORIDAE) PADA SUHU BILIK
Abstract
Bidang entomologi forensik lazimnya menggunakan perkembangan spesimen Diptera yang paling lama berada pada mayat untuk menganggar selang masa pasca kematian minimum (Postmortem Intervalmin – PMImin). Walaupun pupa adalah peringkat metamorfosis yang paling lama berlaku dalam kitar hidup Diptera, maklumat mengenai perkembangan pupa sebagai kronometri biologi untuk digunakan dalam siasatan forensik amatlah terhad. Kekurangan ini dapat diatasi dengan memperihalkan perkembangan intrapuparia berdasarkan peristiwa yang berlaku sepanjang proses metamorfosis dalam puparium. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk memperihalkan perkembangan pupa Spiniphora genitalis Schmitz, 1940 (Diptera: Phoridae) pada suhu bilik berdasarkan perkembangan intrapuparia. Larva S. genitalis yang diperoleh daripada koloni peliharaan Makmal Entomologi Forensik, Fakulti Sains Kesihatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia, dipelihara pada hati lembu di suhu bilik 25°C – 37°C. Pada permulaan peringkat pempupaan, pupa disampel pada selang masa 3, 6 dan 12 jam, dan kemudiannya puparium dipisahkan dengan teliti dan dianalisis secara stereomikroskopi. Dalam kajian ini, sejumlah 14 peringkat perkembangan dikenal pasti bagi pupa S. genitalis, dengan jumlah tempoh perkembangan intrapuparia adalah 240 – 252 jam sebelum menjadi lalat dewasa. Ciri-ciri utama morfologi intrapuparia turut dihasilkan yang mana ia menunjukkan warna mata majmuk dan gabungan beberapa ciri-ciri lain, dapat dijadikan penunjuk berguna untuk menentukan usia pupa bagi anggaran PMImin dalam entomologi forensik.
