SERANGGA
SERANGGA journal, henceforth referred to as “The Journal” wish to select and publish, through external single-blind peer-reviews, the highest quality research articles on all aspects of the biosystematics of insects, especially articles dealing with taxonomy, biology, behavior, ecology, molecular genetics, physiology, biochemistry, life history, and biogeography worldwide.
The editorial board will make the utmost effort to make sure that the peer-review and publication process is thorough, objective and fair. A guideline on The Journal publication code of ethics largely based upon the principles upheld by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (http://publicationethics.org/).
COPE outlines standards for good behavior and solutions to ethical issues faced by Authors, Editors and External Reviewers. The Journal publication code of ethics has been designed to safeguard the integrity of the journal and to ascertain all published materials are of the highest scientific and ethical standard. Authors, Editors and Reviewers can use these guidelines when discharging their task and duties. Any ethical issue and question, which concerns The Journal, can be addressed to the Chief Editor. This code of ethics applies to manuscripts submitted to The Journal. The Editorial Board revises it from time to time.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
All accepted manuscripts are subjected to Article Processing Charges (APC) of RM500 for Malaysian corresponding authors and USD150 for International corresponding authors.
SCOPE
SERANGGA is a refereed journal committed to the advancement of scholarly knowledge and research findings in all aspects of the biosystematics of insects, especially articles dealing with taxonomy, biology, behavior, ecology, molecular genetics, physiology, biochemistry, life history, and biogeography worldwide. The journal publishes articles, reviews, and short communication whose content and approach are of interest to a wide range of scholars.
SERANGGA is published by the UKM an managed and funded by Centre for Insect Systematics, UKM from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). In addition, distinguished scholars from local and foreign universities are appointed to serve as editors, advisory boards, and referees.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The Journal publishes manuscripts written in the Malay and English language. Manuscript submitted to the journal for publication should be original contribution and must not have been previously published or is under consideration simultaneously by any other publication.
The manuscript should be typed with double spacing, and font size 12 on A4 paper not exceeding 25 pages, and should be submitted using the online submission system at Online Submission System (https://ejournal.ukm.my/serangga/login)
FORMAT AND STYLE
The title of a manuscript should be concise and descriptive. The manuscript must include an abstract, describing its main points not exceed 500 words in the Malay and English language. For authors who are unable to provide the Malay version of the abstract, the editor will provide assistance.
In general, the contents should comprise of Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References. The manuscript should be supplied with 4-6 keywords.
All illustrations including figures, charts and graphs, must be labelled and supplied in the manuscript text. The desired placement in the text should be clearly indicated. These illustrations should be referred to and numbered serial, as figures. All illustrations should be clearly drawn in permanent ink or photographed in sharp black and white and reproduced in the form of high - contrast glossy prints or digital images and provided in camera ready form.
References in the text should be denoted by giving the name(s) of the author(s). All alphabetically ordered references list should be included at the end of the manuscript. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information in the reference. Manuscripts must conform to the references in the Chicago Manual of Style (University of Chicago Press). The references style adopted should be consistent throughout the manuscript.
