Level of Readiness in Using ICT for Teaching and Its Effect on the Work and Behaviour of Preschool Pupils

Abstract


The study aimed to identify the level of readiness using (ICT) in teaching and its effects on the work and behaviour of preschool children.Using the survey method the study will identify level of readiness using ICT among teachers and the impact on the work and behaviours of preschool children who used ICT with that of non-users. A total of four preschool clasess in the Gombak district of Selangor were chosen as samples.The study involved 100 respondents and 30 teachers.The result of the study showed the level of readiness among teachers is at the level of average (66.2%) whilst the physical facilities is also at the level of average (65.5%). Appropriateness of resources is at the high level (77.5%). The study also showed that preschool teachers are prepared to implement the use of ICT in their teaching and learning process. Analysis using Pearson correlation indicated a strong and positive relationship of the variables pupils’ work and behaviour. However analysis of test using MANOVA found that there is no significant difference on the pupils’ work and behaviour based on the teaching approach used by preschool teachers.
