KESAN DOS SEPARA MATI RACUN SERANGGA KE ATAS KADAR KEMANDIRIAN HIDUP DAN KESUBURAN Sycanus dichotomus (HEMIPTERA: REDUVIIDAE)
Abstract
Kajian ke atas instar III serangga pemangsa, Sycanus dichotomus yang dirawat dengan racun serangga cypermethrin, deltamethrin dan trichlorfon melalui kaedah pencelupan telah dilakukan. Racun serangga tersebut merupakan racun yang biasa digunakan untuk mengawal perosak pemakan daun sawit. Hasil ujikaji larutan dos separa mati racun serangga ke atas instar III menunjukkan bahawa, tempoh perkembangan S. dichotomus peringkat instar III dan V adalah lebih lama dan berbeza secara signifikan (p<0.05) berbanding rawatan kawalan. Sebaliknya tiada perbezaan yang signifikan bagi tempoh perkembangan S. dichotomus peringkat instar IV yang telah terdedah dengan rawatan yang berbeza. Selain itu, peratusan kemandirian hidup S. dichotomus pada peringkat nimfa (instar III-V) yang telah terdedah dengan racun serangga menunjukkan penurunan secara signifikan berbanding dengan rawatan kawalan. Tanpa mengambil kira jenis rawatan yang diberikan semasa peringkat instar III, S. dichotomus betina dewasa yang terhasil dilihat mampu hidup lebih lama berbanding jantan. Namun begitu, jangka hayat dan kesuburan S. dichotomus dewasa yang terhasil dari instar III yang telah terdedah pada racun serangga tidak menunjukkan perbezaan yang signifikan (p>0.05) apabila dibuat perbandingan antara jenis rawatan. Hasil kajian makmal ini menunjukkan bahawa pemilihan racun serangga perlu diambil berat agar dapat mengawal populasi serangga perosak tanpa memberi kesan negatif kepada musuh semulajadi perosak di dalam ekosistem sawit.
