An Economic Perspective on Terrorism

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Kajian ini cuba menganalisis kesan-kesan yang disebabkan oleh kegiatan terroris terhadap aktiviti ekonomi. Di antara kesan-kesan terroris terhadap ekonomi ialah menyebabkan kemerosotan dalam ekonomi, pengangguran, inflasi, kejatuhan dalam pelaburan luar dan akhirnya ia boleh menyebabkan kebankrapan kepada syarikat-syarikat penting dalam Negara. Maklumat maklumat tentang terroris yang diperolehi dari pelbagai sumber seperti buku, akhbar dan juga melalui internet akan dianalisis bagi melihat kesan-kesan negatif yang disebabkan oleh aktiviti terroris terhadap ekonomi. Akhirnya kajian ini merumuskan bahawa aktiviti terroris adalah bercanggah dengan ajaran Islam yang menekankan kesederhanaan dalam pelbagai aspek. Kaedah fiqh juga jelas menolak fahaman terroris seperti mana kaedah: la darar wa ala dirar (tidak dibenarkan kemudaratan).

ABSTRACT

This research presents an attempt to evaluate the consequences that terrorist activities leave on economics. Among the effects that terrorism causes are; economic recession, unemployment, inflation, decrease of foreign investment and finally bankruptcy of important companies in a country. The information collected from various sources such as books, newspapers and internet will be analyze to substantiate how terrorism effect negatively the economic of a country. This study concludes that the terrorism is against the Islamic teaching which stress on moderation in various aspect of live. The disapproval of the terrorism also can be supported with the legal maxim of “la darar wa la dirar” no harm should be inflicted or caused.
